Dance Extension Audition

 

This week some of the girls at Howick Intermediate signed up for dance. We all went to the hall for our auditions. Miss Vignarajah told us to get into groups to make a up dance to Little Mix's song 'Wings'.

The girls got to do a 30-60 second dance. All the groups of girls were really good at practising. We all got 20 minutes to practice and then Miss Vignarajah said to stop and then we all sat in front of the stage to watch each group dance.

Then it came to our turn. Our group was so nervous but we got over and done with. Miss Vignarajah said that all the groups were really good but she could only choose twenty people. Next week we will find out who made it into dance extension.

Damper for the wild

Last week in Mrs Watsons' class my group; Swagnificint,  learnt how to make damper  [damper is like a sweetened bread]. The first thing we did was make the mixture in the bag.

 

Then we shook, squeezed and kneaded the mixture in the bag. After that we poured it into the cake tin and gently put it on the stove to rise for 1 hour.

 

 

 Later on we carefully put it in the oven.We waited for 1 and a half  hours.

 

After waiting for a long time we took out the damper and tasted it. It was better than I expected.

 

If you would like to make some damper, here is the recipe!

Ingredients for damper

-4 cups of flour
-2 tablespoons of sugar
-1 tablespoon of yeast
-1 cup of milk powder
-2 cups of water
-1 resealable bag

All about Room 17......

 Every morning it's a great start to the day because we love seeing everyone in Room 17. We all are such a big whanau. We love learning but it's not the only thing we do together as a team. We also do Jump Jam, whanau sports, fitness and class games. All of the people in our class are artistic and full of energy and that's what we love about Room 17.

 

In Room 17 you feel safe and welcome. We love working together to make our class a better place and a better school. Every group has a social action its really fun going to our specialists teachers. We all share with each other like a real family should. Thats what we like a about Room 17.
